We’re looking for fintech enthusiasts to join us in creating the financial infrastructure of tomorrow. We’re building the first European Investment API to enable any financial institution offering a wide range of efficient and transparent investment products, such as stocks and ETFs in nominal, portfolio, and fractional form. Our HQ is based in Berlin and we operate a hybrid working environment. We are looking for a highly motivated Paralegal reporting to the GC to provide support across the legal team. This role offers a unique opportunity to understand Upvest’s business processes and work on a wide array of legal and regulatory matters in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.

Your mission:

• Be part of the story to build an easily accessible investment product with regulatory excellence reaching 100m end users.

• Provide support to the legal team at Upvest in the UK and Germany.

• Enhance your legal skills, and make a significant impact in a leading fintech company. 

This role will give you the opportunity to:

• Collaborate with the legal team to provide assistance on a variety of legal and regulatory issues, including financial regulations, commercial contracts, consumer T&Cs and privacy. 

• Assist with updating legal and compliance documents such as policies and manuals, as well as drafting, reviewing and executing a broad range of legal documents, including NDAs and commercial contracts. 

• Manage legal operations by improving and scaling processes to ensure efficiency and effectiveness using legal tech.

• Maintain and organizing the contracts database, and generally leading on document management. 

• Assisting with general administrative tasks and ad-hoc projects to improve the processes within the Banking Team. 

About you

• A law degree or equivalent legal qualification, or working towards a legal qualification.  

• At least 1 years’ relevant experience in a commercial/corporate environment.

• Ambition to learn within the entrepreneurial spirit of the Upvest and from in-house team of experts whilst developing your own skills.

• Helpful, hardworking approach with high degree of initiative.

• Collaborative approach and ability to work well in a team.

• Flexible can-do attitude and the ability to multitask.

• Sound judgement and first-rate communication skills.

• English language skills are essential.
